Earlier this year, members of our team had an incredible opportunity to visit Honolulu and co-host a lively listening session, with huge help from Punahou School, Mid-Pacific Institute and ‘Ulu’ulu: The Henry Ku’ualoha Giugni Moving Image Archive of Hawai’i!

Coinciding with the Association of Hawai’i Archivists’ conference, we invited a range of collection management experts to not only learn about our platform, but provide insight, advice, and requests, for how we can continue to develop our platform and incorporate the voice of our customers into the direction of Recollect.

Proving to be an incredibly valuable experience, this event shone a spotlight on modern challenges regarding archival practices, specifically involving the handling of culturally sensitive and indigenous heritage materials – a topic we know much of our audience can resonate with.

A huge thanks to Kylee Mar, Dr. Kealohi Reppun, Janel Quirante, Joan Tanji, and their amazing teams for their warm hospitality, and for organising a fantastic experience. Visit Punahou School’s Digital Archive for yourself here, and watch this space out for exciting updates coming soon for the Mid-Pacific Institute collections!
